CSKA Moscow 0 – 1 Manchester United

Antonio Valencia struck a late winner as Manchester United maintained their 100% record in Champions League Group B at the expense of CSKA Moscow.

United returned to Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium for the first time since their victory over Chelsea in the 2008 Champions League final and Valencia’s shot from a tight angle four minutes from time secured their third successive win in the competition.

Chances had been at a premium on the artificial surface of the Luzhniki Stadium – scene of United’s final victory in 2008 – but United finished strongly.

The English champions top the group with nine points and are firmly on course to reach the knockout stages as they bid for a third consecutive appearance in the Champions League final.

Valencia went much closer eight minutes from time when he combined well with Berbatov and Nani on the edge of the area but his powerful shot rebounded off the woodwork. Not to be denied, Valencia went one better five minutes from time when he latched onto a downward header from Berbatov and turned six yards out to lash in the winner.

AC Milan Beats Real Madrid in Champions League – Pato Scores Two Goals And Game Winner

Alexandre Pato scored the game winning goal to give AC Milan a 3-2 victory over rich boys Real Madrid at the Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, Spain.

An embarrassing fumble by AC Milan’s brazilian goalkeeper, Dida, that lead to a Raul goal gave Real Madrid a half time lead but Pato scored in the 66th minute to give AC Milan its first lead of the game after Andrea Pirlo equalized in the 62  minute for AC Milan.

Real Madrid made the game 2-2 with a goal by Royston Drenthe in the 76th minute.

However, that was not enough to earn Madrid a point as Milan claimed the spoils thanks to Pato`s 88 minute strike.

Madrid were convinced Karim Benzema should have been awarded a penalty in the 14th minute after the France striker went crashing to the ground following a challenge from behind by Gianluca Zambrotta.

The win is a bright spot for AC Milan who is struggling as an above average team in the Serie A this year after selling their best player Kaka and hiring a new coach.

Real Madrid was without key player Christiano Ronaldo but lost the game with recent signing and former AC Milan player Kaka.
